About the CentrePort Canada Way Project
CentrePort Canada Way (CCW) is a design-build project between the Government of Manitoba’s Ministry of Infrastructure and Transportation and SNC-Lavalin Constructors (Pacific) Ltd, with funding assistance by the Government of Canada.
The Project consists of the design and construction of a systems interchange at Provincial Trunk Highway (PTH) 101 and CCW, a grade separation of PTH 101 over the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) Glenboro Subdivision, Saskatchewan Avenue and a grade separation of CCW over the CPR Carberry Subdivision and Omands Creek.
When open to traffic, CCW will provide a four-lane divided expressway linking the inland port to the Perimeter Highway. This new high-speed corridor will eventually connect Inkster Boulevard (PR 221), the James A. Richardson International Airport and the CP Weston rail intermodal facility to the Perimeter Highway near Saskatchewan Avenue. The new infrastructure project supports the development of CentrePort Canada, which is Manitoba’s 20,000-acre inland port.
In spring 2010, the Government of Manitoba awarded the CCW Project to SNC-Lavalin Constructors (Pacific) Inc. (SLCP), who will design and build the project within a *30-month period. The Government of Manitoba determines the reference alignment and functional plan, along with other design and technical project requirements, and is slated to open CCW to traffic by *August 31, 2012.
